New Believers in Tacoma

Just over one year ago we began a new work in Tacoma, Washington. Pastor Jesús Rivas and his wife Carmelina moved from Kentucky to start this new work at Calvary Baptist Church on the east side of the city. This month Pastor Jesús baptized six new believers and Calvary welcomed twelve new members from the Hispanic ministry. These new believers came through their evangelism in the community and the three home groups they have going across the area. One of these is a jail ministry.

Earlier this year while visiting his native country (Cuba) for the first time in 17 years, Pastor Rivas started a new group in Havana. In less than six months this group has multiplied into five groups through his training and equipping of a national leader in Cuba. We are helping with encouragement, counsel and resources such as Bibles. We are planning to visit again early in 2018.
