With the purpose of building a network of pastors to encourage them and inspire them to plant new churches, the first Pastor’s Retreat was held in Rosarito, Baja California, Mexico over the last weekend in May.
A total of 30 people— the Church Planting Ministry of the Gonzalez Family, plus eleven pastors and their wives— came together for two amazing days of training, fellowship and encouragement. Eduardo and Gloria Buldain from Argentina and Mark and Luisa Robinson from the USA brought in their many years of experience and knowledge to share with the group.
Pastors attending the retreat came from Rosarito, Ensenada, Tijuana and Mexicali and two pastors from California. The training sessions included topics such as church planting, strategic planning, pastoral care, evangelism and discipleship. There were also times of prayer and worship and every meal was an opportunity to develop new relationships and hear what God is doing in the Region.
By the end of the retreat, there was a distinctive spirit of unity and cooperation. Gathered at the hotel entrance for a photo, many of the pastors (and especially there wives) hugged and cried and hope to see each other again soon. This was indeed a special time in the lives of these tireless servants of the Gospel.
